I started with Cursor but got fed up with how it needs me to remind it of the context all the time. For my needs, Lovable is perfect (fewer headaches). If I ever feel like building beyond MPV myself, pairing Cursor with Lovable may be a good option, thanks for the inspiration!
Really nice article! I've been playing a lot recently with Cursor and I'm starting to fall in love with it. If I'm honest I hadn't tried Lovable until just now, but working with the two together like this seems really intuitive.
I'm interested in it from a UI perspective. Cursor is pretty awesome at code, but I'm yet to find an AI that can set out a half decent UI. Not that I agree with skimping on design and UI choices - but sometimes when you're doing small test projects, this sort of automation is truly excellent. First impressions with Lovable are strong!
Great article! I have been working with Github, Cursor and Supabase to really move the needle on an old project I am picking back up. The only issue now, the Frontend could do with some Lov . . .able. It is on my weekend to do list to see how it works with exiting projects.
Thanks Glen. Best of luck. Given the limited tokens on Lovableβs free plan, you may consider doing the frontend revisions in Cursor too. It may also be easier to get what you want by providing Cursor a reference (code snippets or snapshots), if you go to sites like 21st.dev or https://mobbin.design/.
Just wondering would this also by default let Cursor handle make changes in Supabase database, edge functions and authentication, or we would need to connect it separately?

Not sure if you used "quote" in Cursor: https://docs.cursor.com/context/@-symbols/overview. Essentially ask it to only focus on one specific area to make a change, etcβcould be quite helpful.
And Cursor can cause headache for sure.

Thanks! Glad you started playing with them. If you are comfortable with Cursor, you may find Lovable simple and limiting.

Nice! And yeah, totally. Cursor is not really focused on UI. Aside from Lovable, you can also try out Bolt and V0 to see which one you like the most.

Thank you for the tips Xinran! I will give these a try!

Great question, Alpesh! I think you need to connect it separately. Here's a relevant post: https://forum.cursor.com/t/supabase-for-back-end/42632.
